Chevy Chase Trust supports Women & Wine

Chevy Chase Trust was proud to support Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center’s 2017 Women & Wine event, which benefits the Nina Hyde Center for Breast Cancer research. Women & Wine recognizes outstanding individuals in their fight against breast cancer, and has raised over $1.8 million since inception.

Dr. Claudine Isaacs introduced the event, and discussed technological advances in breast cancer detection. She was also a featured speaker at Chevy Chase Trust’s Women & Progress earlier this Spring. Later, Susan Miller, DC Area mother, executive, and stage 3-breast cancer patient, was honored with the inaugural Lombardi Spirit of Life Award, which is given to a cancer survivor who exemplifies character and leadership in the community while promoting cancer research and awareness.

The evening had over 650 attendees and over $562,000 was raised.

Nearly 70 breast cancer researchers and clinicians who exclusively study breast cancer are part of the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Study. Their work will progress thanks to the funds raised by this event.
